IT Recommended Standards

 

Standards for Secure, Reliable Client Environments

This document defines the minimum standards for hardware and software supported by Executive Image Solutions Inc.

These standards ensure compatibility, security, reliability, and optimal performance across all client environments, while providing flexibility to meet varied business needs.

General Standards:

  • Support Lifecycle: All hardware and software must be actively supported by the original manufacturer or vendor and receive regular security, stability, and compatibility updates.
  • Compatibility: Systems must align with client-specific business applications, network infrastructure, and compliance requirements.
  • Security Compliance: All supported technology must accommodate current cybersecurity protocols, including multi-factor authentication, endpoint protection, and data encryption.

Recommended Hardware Standards

Desktops/Laptops:

  • Processor: Intel i5 (12th Gen+) / AMD Ryzen 5 (5000 series+)
  • RAM: 16 GB minimum
  • Storage: 512 GB SSD minimum
  • TPM 2.0 support
  • Capable of running the current supported version of Windows/macOS

Servers:

  • Intel Xeon Silver (or higher) / AMD EPYC equivalent
  • ECC RAM
  • RAID-capable
  • Redundant power supplies for critical systems
  • Virtualization-ready (if applicable)

Networking Equipment:

  • Managed switches (Layer 2 minimum)
  • 802.11ac or Wi-Fi 6 wireless access points
  • Firewalls with current firmware and active security subscriptions

Printers/MFDs:

  • Network-capable
  • SNMP v3 support
  • Compatible with secure print and scan configurations

Mobile Devices:

  • Supports the latest two major iOS or Android versions
  • Mobile Device Management (MDM) capable (if policy requires)

Minimum Software Standards

Operating Systems:

  • Windows 10/11 (only supported builds)
  • macOS (latest two major versions)
  • Windows Server 2019 or newer
  • TPM 2.0 support
  • Linux distributions with active Long-Term Support (LTS)

Productivity Suites:

  • Microsoft 365 (Business Standard or higher)
  • Google Workspace (Business tier or higher)

Security Software:

  • Modern endpoint protection with real-time threat monitoring
  • Multi-factor authentication enforced
  • Disk encryption (BitLocker, FileVault, etc.)

Backup & Recovery:

  • Automated daily backups
  • Off-site or cloud redundancy
  • Quarterly recovery testing

Remote Access:

  • Secure VPN or remote management platform with encryption (e.g., Control, AnyDesk, etc.)

Line-of-Business Applications:

  • Officially supported by the vendor
  • Fully compatible with hardware and OS in use

Non-Supported Systems

Executive Image Solutions Inc. does NOT support the following:

  • Operating systems that have reached end-of-life (e.g., Windows 7, Server 2012, outdated macOS versions)
  • Devices lacking secure boot, UEFI, or TPM
  • Software applications that are no longer maintained or unsupported by the vendor

Exceptions

Exceptions to this policy may be granted on a case-by-case basis with written approval from Executive Image Solutions Inc. Such exceptions may be provided with limited support scope or additional fees based on compatibility and security risks.
